If ELF Golf Co-founder Mitch Crump could get his way this Fall, he would rename Littleton, Colorado’s famed Arrowhead Golf Club, ‘Arrowhemp’ for the day in honor of the illustrious, founding father of hemp, Jack Herer.
Crump and ELF Golf Co-founder Greg Mills, are producing this year’s Jack Herer Foundation Golf Tournament taking place on Friday, October 8th, at Arrowhead Golf Club, known for its picturesque red rocks located in the foothills of South Denver.
“It’s a privilege to be a part of this event and bring to life the mission of Jack Herer in a beautiful setting surrounded by hemp supporters and those who knew Jack,” said Mitch Crump, Co-Founder, ELF Golf. ELF Golf stands for Exciting, Lucrative, and Fun and specializes in managing golf tournaments tied to a charity or a cause.
Hemp and cannabis are both an essential part of Crump’s life who is battling cancer. “When I was diagnosed, I learned about the healing properties of hemp and researched ways cannabis could ease my chemotherapy treatments. So far, I have been able to find some relief. Working with the Jack Herer Foundation makes it even more of a personal journey with a connection to such a revered man,” adds Crump.
Hemp Goes Mobile
The primary goal of the Jack Herer Foundation is to re-introduce the history of the hemp plant by creating a Mobile Education Center. Proceeds from the tournament will go towards a 55-foot RV that will travel to communities nationwide, educating people about hemp as a renewable agricultural resource and its ability to be made into paper, textiles, fuel, building materials, and more.
“Jack Herer’s spirit and legacy must continue. That’s why Colorado Hemp Company and the NoCo Hemp Expo are proud to honor the Foundation and gather with the community at this golf tournament in our beautiful backyard here in Colorado,” said Morris Beegle, Co-founder, Colorado Hemp Company and Producer of the NoCo Hemp Expo.
Through Jack Herer’s longstanding commitment to ending the prohibition of cannabis, he has given the hemp industry tools and resources to better inform the world about the possibilities of the powerful plant.
Hemp in the Fairways
The Jack Herer Foundation Golf Tournament will feature a $2,000 purse for registered foursomes. Arrowhead Golf Club is located at 10850 Sundown Trail, near Roxborough State Park in Littleton, Colorado.
