Shaping the Organic Hemp Landscape: Visionary Dexter Rice, CEO of Sub-Zero Extracts Shares Stories of Success
By Heather Collins
Hemp entrepreneur and organic farmer Dexter Rice’s pioneering spirit led him from the hustle and bustle of the Front Range to the peaceful plains of Brush, Colorado, in 2014. That’s where Rice set up his 18-acre organic hemp paradise and the home office of Sub-Zero Extracts, the country’s first hemp extract product manufacturing facility.
“We love it out here and having our manufacturing facility right next to the farm saves fuel and increases efficiency. Not to mention the solitude provides the perfect setting to grow hemp, work, and meditate,” says Rice.

CBD: Consumers Crave Science, Information
By Steven Hoffman
Based on a comprehensive consumer survey published in 2020 of 4,000 U.S. consumers plus another 1,000 consumers in Canada, healthy lifestyles research firm Natural Marketing Institute (NMI) found that people are eager and interested in exploring the medicinal value of CBD.
According to NMI’s 2020 North American Cannabis Market Opportunities and Challenges Report, 18% of the U.S. adult population (46 million consumers) say they have personally used CBD products in the past six months.

Hemp Supporters, there’s never been a more urgent opportunity to support CBD on Capitol Hill. If passed, H.R. 8179 would ensure that hemp-derived CBD, and other non-intoxicating hemp ingredients, could be lawfully marketed as dietary supplements.
