DENVER, CO (January 4, 2022) – Organizers of the 8th Annual NoCo Hemp Expo in Denver, CO are pleased to announce the first lineup of speakers for the nation’s longest-running, must-attend industrial hemp conference and trade show held in Denver March 23-25, 2022.

The three-day show will feature both veteran and emerging industry leaders with expertise in hemp innovation, technology, infrastructure, investment, health, regenerative agriculture and much more.

The expo will return to the Crowne Plaza Denver Convention Center with hundreds of exhibitors, seminars and educational programming. The national trade show is organized and produced by We Are For Better Alternatives (WAFBA) and Colorado Hemp Company.

More than 80 leading hemp entrepreneurs, public officials and leaders will speak and share their insights on the growing opportunities in hemp processing and manufacturing, health and wellness, carbon offset markets, hemp building materials, and diversity and inclusion in hemp.

“We are once again bringing together the hemp industry to reconnect, reorganize, rebuild and reimagine hemp as a source of collaboration and opportunity in 2022,” said Morris Beegle, trade show organizer and founder of WAFBA.

NoCo Hemp Expo’s team is diligently working with the city and county of Denver, following all health guidelines and safety protocols administered by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Wednesday, March 23: Welcome Reception

Thursday, March 24: Business and Investment Conference – Highly qualified investment professionals and business leaders will discuss the convergence of hemp, cannabis, nutrition and psychedelics as well as trends and strategies in the global market.

Friday March 25: Farm Symposium and Open to the Public Trade Show -The Farm Symposium draws experts in regenerative agriculture, soil health, genetics, pest control, testing compliance, extraction, food security, finance and crop insurance, technology and equipment. During Friday afternoon, it is an open-to-the-public trade show, meet pioneering hemp entrepreneurs in nutrition, textiles, biochar, genetics, building materials, paper, plastics, composites, wellness and more.

Featured speakers will include:

  • Aaron Barr – CEO Canadian Rockies Hemp Processing: Founder of North America’s largest industrial hemp processing facility in Edmonton AB, Canada, the company processes hemp for fiber, hurd, and microfiber products.
  • Alex White Plume – Hemp pioneer and former president of the Oglala Sioux, White Plume planted industrial hemp and built a hemp dwelling on the Pine Ridge reservation in the 1990s and struggled with the DEA for tribal sovereignty to grow hemp.
  • Ben Williams – Co-founder of Houston-based hemp-infused Highway Vodka: Williams will discuss distilled spirits and hemp and the challenges and opportunities of starting a Black-owned business in the hemp industry. 
  • Robert Hoban – Leading cannabis and hemp attorney with Clark Hill shares 2022’s legal and legislative landscape.
  • Sergiy “Doctor Hemphouse” Kovalenkov – CEO/CTO of Hempire USA: An engineer and green builder, Sergiy is one of the world’s most experienced global contractors using hemp + lime construction materials. 
  • Franny Tacy: Founder, Franny’s Farmacy: An entrepreneur trailblazer, Tacy was the 21st Century’s first woman hemp farmer in North Carolina and has built an empire of home-grown health and wellness products. 
  • Kate Greenberg – Colorado’s Commissioner of Agriculture: Greenberg shares her policy and opportunity expertise on the state’s hemp landscape. 
  • Maren Krings – Photographer and author of “H is for Hemp:” Krings’s new 500-page coffee table book chronicles the stunning photos and stories of the modern hemp revolution. The book is being printed on hemp paper, which is a first of its kind with a new hemp book paper developed in Germany.
  • Mary Jane Oatman – Founder, Indigenous Cannabis Coalition: Oatman, a descendant of Chief Looking Glass of the Nez Perce Tribe, publishes Tribal Hemp Cannabis Magazine and developed an interactive map of Native American cannabis and hemp cultivators, processors, testing facilities and dispensaries in the nation.
  • Melissa Nelson Baldwin – Co-founder South Bend Industrial Hemp: Crop scientist and co-owner of a fourth-generation Nebraska family farm, Nelson Baldwin and her team process U.S. grown industrial hemp for building materials, hemp bedding and fiber.
