Benzinga Brings Big Energy to Chicago Cannabis Conference
By Morris Beegle
The Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference took place in Chicago on Sept. 13-14. It was my first time attending this event, and I have to say I was very impressed overall with the quality of the venue, the speakers, the programming topics, the sponsors and attending companies, and the general vibe and energy of the show. Attendance was strong and I got to meet a lot of new people throughout the cannabis space.
While Let’s Talk Hemp focuses primarily on the industrial and nutritional hemp markets, we do provide coverage to the sister side of the cannabis plant that is medical and recreational marijuana. It’s all one plant, with literally thousands of potential applications that can have tremendous positive impact and benefits on society and the environment if regulated properly and given the right opportunity.

Hemp Scores 2 Grants in USDA Climate Smart Commodities Awards
By Jean Lotus, PanXchange
The United States Department of Agriculture included two significant hemp projects, one tied to carbon sequestration, in the first list of $3.5 billion Climate Smart Commodities grants announced Wednesday by Secretary Tom Vilsack.
The projects help develop and market climate-smart commodities, giving a voluntary, market-driven boost to commodity crops that are sustainably produced, Vilsack said.

Help Rebuild Ukraine with Hemp
Sergiy Kovalenkov, aka Doctor Hemphouse, one of the world’s renowned specialists in building with hemp, is appealing to the hemp industry for help in rebuilding war-torn Ukraine, including building Ukraine’s biggest social housing project to date — a 10,000-sq.-ft. residential building to house refugees and orphans who lost their parents to the war. In particular, the project is seeking builders, sponsors, automated block-making machinery and a hempcrete spraying system.
