Denver, CO (February 26, 2020) – One of the hemp industry’s longtime influential advocates, Colorado Governor Jared Polis, will present opening remarks at the NoCo Hemp Expo on Friday, March 27, 2020, from 10:30 am – 11:00 am. The Governor, who is making a return visit to this year’s NoCo Hemp Expo Main Stage, will share his plans for ‘Advancing the Hemp Industry’ at the famed National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado.
The Governor’s keynote address also will unveil his newly created ‘roadmap,’ a plan designed to strengthen the relationship between the hemp and cannabis industries’ banking and financial services sectors statewide. In a prepared statement by the Governor’s office and the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, the ‘roadmap’ provides clarity and guidance needed for state-chartered financial institutions that work with cannabis and hemp-related companies. Polis states, “As the first state to establish a legal marijuana industry and one of the first to implement an industrial hemp program, Colorado has become a national economic leader in the cannabis industry. We are excited to release a bold, forward-thinking roadmap to provide much-needed guidance, clarity, and support.”
Governor Polis has been instrumental in making Colorado an innovative force in the promotion of hemp by creating a statewide initiative known as the “Colorado Hemp Advancement and Management Plan” (CHAMP). Following the Governor’s presentation on Friday, CHAMP task force members will take the Speakeasy Stage on Saturday, March 28, and dive deeper into the ‘roadmap’ and provide additional insight. For more information on The CHAMP panel at the NoCo Hemp Expo Farm Symposium, look for the “We Are the CHAMPions,” on the Speakeasy Stage, 1:50 pm – 2:30 pm, Saturday, March 28.
“We’re honored that Governor Jared Polis will join us to present NoCo7’s opening keynote presentation. His participation in NoCo Hemp Expo over the years has been an integral part of shaping hemp’s business future and providing the clarity this industry needs to grow and succeed,” said Morris Beegle, producer of the NoCo Hemp Expo. “We look forward to sharing his groundbreaking message and are grateful for his support and endeavors with CHAMP by serving as a role model for the nation.”
